Paris-Bercy-Bourgogne-Pays d'Auvergne Station

Description

Located in Paris's 12th arrondissement, the Paris-Bercy-Bourgogne-Pays d'Auvergne Station is operated by SNCF. Opened in 1977, it was designed to alleviate congestion at the nearby Gare de Lyon. The station primarily serves the Burgundy and Massif Central regions via Intercités and TER trains. It also offers auto-train services, allowing travelers to transport their vehicles to various destinations in France.

If you're expecting a typical Paris train station with modern facilities and good service, be prepared for something very different at Paris-Bercy. The station is small, outdated, and often overcrowded, especially during holiday periods.

The waiting areas are limited and uncomfortable, and there are very few places to sit. Food options are minimal, so don’t count on grabbing a proper meal here. Cleanliness is also an issue — restrooms were dirty and lacked basic supplies.

Signage isn’t always clear, especially for non-French speakers, and the station can feel chaotic. There’s often a lack of announcements or helpful staff when delays occur.

While it technically does the job — trains arrive and depart — the overall experience is far from pleasant. If you have heavy luggage or are traveling with kids, consider arriving very early or even departing from a different station if possible.
